Adventures in Technology

I am so excited to begin a new chapter in my teaching career. I am moving out of a self-contained classroom and into all the rooms at my new K - 6 elementary school as an Instructional Technology Specialist. The staff and technology available at Loachapoka Elementary is absolutely amazing, and I am so excited and honored to have the opportunity to give classroom support in the area of technology. Using technology in the classroom is my hobby! My idea of fun is sitting with my iPad on the couch for hours and reading/researching new and innovative ways to use technology with my students. I have so many great ideas and things I want to do this year, and I hope that I will be able to do maybe at least half of them! A few of the things I am most excited about working on this year include participating in the Doodle4Google contest, hosting a school technology night, participating in a technology fair, and assisting the teachers with the many projects and ideas that they have. I am also looking forward to assisting the teachers as we find new and innovative ways to use Smartboards to engage and motivate the students. I plan to blog about my "adventures" and hopefully inspire a few readers along the way.
